Teacher Salaries: These Area School Districts Rank Among Highest In Upstate NY

The Hudson Valley is among the top places to be an educator, with teachers among the highest paid in upstate New York, according to a new report.

A new study by Upstate New York determined that the average salary for teachers in New York State is approximately $59,270, though many in the Hudson Valley are earning much more than that.

The study found that median salaries in New York schools ranges from $21,765 to $131,689, based on data submitted on their Basic Educational Data Systems Personnel Data Forms. The report only includes school districts that are considered “upstate” which is considered north of Westchester and Rockland in the rankings.

Data provided includes the median salary for teachers, as well as the 95th, 75th, 25th and 5th percentiles in each district:
